MOTOR PROFICIENCY AND HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS IN DOWN SYNDROME

People with Down syndrome (DS) seem to have a lower physical fitness than their peers without disabilities. Purpose: To examine the correlation of gross motor proficiency to health-related physical fitness ( HRPF) in children with DS.

Who can participate

Only the study team can determine whether someone qualifies for participation.

Inclusion criteria

  • Their age ranged from 6-9 years old, both sexes, and their IQ > 50 (according to medical report).

Exclusion criteria

  • Cardiovascular problems such as congenital heart disease , Neurological problems as uncontrolled epilepsy, or Orthopaedic surgical intervention in lower limb in the last 6 months.

Treatment and study plan

Primary outcomes

  1. Bruininks-Osertsky Test of Motor Proficiency-Second Edition

    Time frame: 3 months

Secondary outcomes

  1. Six-minute Walk Test

    Time frame: 3 months

Other outcomes

  1. sit and reach test

    Time frame: 3 months
