About this study

In this small trial assessing the impact of educational methodologies, we are looking to determine which of the following 3 approaches will be most successful in engaging academic physicians in grateful patient philanthropy;

  • email advice
  • didactic session led by experts
  • one-on-one coaching by development professionals

Who can participate

Healthy volunteers accepted: Yes

Only the study team can determine whether someone qualifies for participation.

Inclusion criteria

  • academic physicians

Exclusion criteria

  • having secured grateful patient philanthropy in past

Primary outcomes

  1. qualified referrals to development office

    Time frame: 6 month follow-up period

    Individuals able to make a donation of $25,000 based on criteria established by Hopkins Office of Development.
