This retrospective observational study evaluates the effect of different regional anesthesia techniques on perioperative blood loss in patients undergoing femoral neck fracture surgery. Patients who received tranexamic acid were grouped by anesthesia method (lumbar plexus block, spinal anesthesia, or general anesthesia). The primary outcomes were intraoperative blood loss and the change in hemoglobin between the preoperative and postoperative periods. Secondary outcomes were postoperative pain (VAS) and total analgesic consumption during the first 24 hours.

Inclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria
Time frame: Intraoperative (during surgery)
Intraoperative blood loss estimated from the volume in the aspirator container and the blood absorbed in surgical sponges
Time frame: Preoperative and within 24 hours postoperatively
Difference between preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin concentration (g/dL)
Time frame: 2, 6, 12 and 24 hours postoperatively
Postoperative pain assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (0-10)
Time frame: First 24 hours postoperatively
Total amount of analgesic consumed in the first 24 postoperative hours
