Visual Function and Exercise in Glaucoma Patients

This study will investigate the relationship between visual function-including central visual field, the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) in the macular and optic disc regions, intraocular pressure, and other factors-and exercise in patients with glaucoma. It aims to explore whether exercise has a protective effect on visual function in glaucoma patients and to provide recommendations for the clinical care of these patients.

Healthy volunteers accepted: No

Only the study team can determine whether someone qualifies for participation.

Inclusion criteria

  • 18-100 years male or female glaucoma patients
  • Complete the sports questionnaire

Exclusion criteria

  • diseases that cause less than 5 years survival;
  • condition that causes low compliance, for instance cognition disorder;
  • Any eye with disease that would interfere with the examinations

All patients enrolled in the cohort are required to complete a questionnaire.

Primary outcomes

  1. central visual field

    Time frame: month 3

Secondary outcomes

  1. retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) in the macular regions

    Time frame: month 3

  2. retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) in the optic disc regions

    Time frame: month 3

  3. intraocular pressure

    Time frame: month 3
