The purpose of this study is verify the effects of a 16 sessions of a web based resistance training, on balance, neuromuscular performance and symptomatology of fibromyalgia.

Volunteers who had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia were recruited and invited to participate in an sixteen sessions of a web-based resistance training programme, followed by a one-month detraining period. Before the intervention began, a face-to-face assessment was conducted to evaluate balance, neuromuscular performance, symptoms and the impact of fibromyalgia. The intervention involved two 50-minute sessions, followed by four weeks of detraining.

The web-based resistance training protocol was completed over the course of sixteen sessions, with each session lasting fifty minutes and occurring twice a week on alternate days.
Time frame: Baseline, after 8 weeks of intervention and after 4 weeks of detraining
A force platform is used to measure the vertical jump of the lower limbs. The greater the vertical jump height in centimeters, the better the performance is considered to be.

The medicine ball throw test is used to assess neuromuscular performance of the upper limbs. The greater the distance in centimeters, the better the muscle performance is considered to be.

The force plate is used to assess postural control with the eyes open and closed, during unipodal support and dual tasks (recalling a stressful day) tests. Increased velocity means (mm/s), means poorer postural control.

Questionnaire to access information on the functional capacity and health status of individuals with fibromyalgia. It is composed of 20 questions. Values range from 0 to 100, with higher values indicating a greater impact of fibromyalgia.
Time frame: Baseline, after 8 weeks of intervention and after 4 weeks of detraining
Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) to assess the intensity of pain, anxiety, quality of sleep, fatigue and mood state. The scoring range will be from 0 to 100, in which the higher the value, the greater the intensity.
Time frame: Baseline, after 8weeks of intervention and after 4 weeks of detraining.
The questionnaire consists of seven questions related to concerns about falling during daily activities. Values range from a minimum of 7 (no concern about falling) to a maximum of 28 (severe concern about falling), and are categorised as low concern (7-8), moderate concern (9-13), and high concern (14-28).
