NCT Number: NCT07432464
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of nomophobia levels on anxiety and academic self-efficacy in university students with text neck. In this regard, the comprehensive assessment aims to reveal the relationships between nomophobia, anxiety and academic self-efficacy by considering the physical and psychosocial variables associated with text neck together. Furthermore, the study highlights that approaches to text neck rehabilitation in the existing literature are mostly limited to the physical dimension, while psychosocial components are insufficiently addressed. It therefore aims to identify knowledge gaps and research needs in this area.

This study is one of the limited number of investigations that simultaneously and holistically examines the effects of text neck on anxiety and academic self-efficacy, focusing on the level of nomophobia among university students with text neck. Unlike most text neck studies in the literature, which predominantly focus on physical symptoms, this research considers psychosocial variables as an integral part of the rehabilitation process. In this respect, the study sheds light on the multidimensional effects of text neck on not only postural but also academic and psychological functioning, thereby making a unique contribution to the field.
