About this study

By using a familiarity continuum task based on the existence of the categorical perception effect, the objective of this study was to determine whether SZP present hyper- or hypo-familiarity.

Who can participate

Only the study team can determine whether someone qualifies for participation.

Inclusion criteria

  • (a) provide informed consent to participate in the survey, (b) speak French, (c) aged 18 years or older, (d) free of any mental or psychological incapacity to participate due to acute decompensation of a psychiatric disorder or severe substance withdrawal

Exclusion criteria

  • (a) no informed consent to participate in the survey, (b) do not speak French, (c) aged under18 years (d) free of any mental or psychological incapacity to participate due to acute decompensation of a psychiatric disorder or severe substance withdrawal

Primary outcomes

  1. facial stimuli, which consisted of picture morphs of unfamiliar faces and faces that were personally familiar to the participants. The percentage of the familiar face

    Time frame: at inclusion

    contained in the morph ranged from 5 to 95%. The participants were asked to press a button when they felt familiar with the face that was presented.
