The main purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of NAL ER on 24-hour cough frequency using objective digital cough monitoring and to assess safety and tolerability of NAL ER.

The E-RS:IPF is a respiratory symptom subscale of the exacerbation of chronic pulmonary disease tool (EXACT) and consists of 11 items and was developed for use in IPF. The Cough subscale includes a single item (item 2: How often did you cough today?). The possible score range is 0 (not at all) to 4 (almost constantly). Higher scores indicate more severe symptoms.
