NCT Number: NCT07840781
This study aims to investigate the effects of a cognitive game-based exercise program on cognitive and physical performance in amputee football players. Participants will complete a structured exercise program incorporating cognitive game activities designed to simultaneously stimulate cognitive and motor functions. Cognitive and physical performance outcomes will be assessed before and after the intervention. The findings are expected to provide evidence regarding the potential benefits of integrating cognitive game-based activities into exercise and rehabilitation programs for amputee football players.

Amputee football is a physically and cognitively demanding sport that requires rapid decision-making, attention, visuospatial processing, balance, coordination, and sport-specific motor performance. Therefore, training approaches that simultaneously target cognitive and physical functions may contribute to the performance of amputee football players.
This study aims to investigate the effects of a cognitive game-based exercise program on cognitive and physical performance in amputee football players. The intervention will incorporate structured cognitive game activities into an exercise program to provide simultaneous cognitive and motor stimulation. The activities will involve cognitive demands such as attention, concentration, planning, problem solving, decision-making, and visuospatial processing together with physical tasks.
Participants will undergo baseline assessments of cognitive and physical performance before the intervention. Following completion of the intervention program, the same outcome measures will be repeated to determine changes in cognitive and physical performance. The study will examine whether a structured cognitive game-based exercise approach can improve selected cognitive and physical performance outcomes in amputee football players.
The results may contribute to the development of multidimensional training approaches that integrate cognitive and motor components in amputee football and may provide a basis for future exercise and rehabilitation programs for athletes with lower-limb amputation.
Healthy volunteers accepted: No
Only the study team can determine whether someone qualifies for participation.
Inclusion criteria
Individuals with lower-limb amputation who actively participate in amputee football Regular participation in amputee football training Ability to understand and follow the study instructions Voluntary agreement to participate in the study
Exclusion criteria
Presence of an acute musculoskeletal injury that prevents participation in training or performance tests Presence of a medical condition that prevents safe participation in exercise or performance testing Inability to complete the cognitive or physical performance assessments Withdrawal from the study or failure to complete the intervention program
The intervention consists of a 10-session cognitive game-based exercise program using the Gince Intelligence Game. The program is administered in addition to routine amputee football training and is designed to stimulate cognitive and physical performance through game-based activities.
Participants will continue their usual amputee football training program throughout the study period without receiving the additional Gince Intelligence Game-based exercise intervention.
Other names: Routine Amputee Football Training
Time frame: Baseline and immediately after completion of the intervention
Cognitive inhibitory control and selective attention will be assessed using the Stroop Test. Completion time will be recorded in seconds, and the number of errors will also be recorded. Changes from baseline to post-intervention will be evaluated
Time frame: Baseline and immediately after completion of the intervention
Agility performance will be assessed using the Illinois Agility Test. Completion time will be recorded in seconds. The best performance and mean performance will be recorded.
Time Frame: Baseline and immediately after completion of the intervention
