Investigation of the Effects of Exercise in Individuals With Juvenile Hallux Valgus

This study aims to evaluate the short- and long-term effects of toe spread-out exercises, performed under supervision for 3 months, on the angular severity of deformity and the electromechanical activity, stiffness, and thickness of the abductor hallucis muscle, as well as its contribution to functional status, in individuals with juvenile hallux valgus.

Treatment and study plan

Toe Spread Out Exercises

Other

Standart protocol toe spread out exercise

Primary outcomes

  1. Cross sectional area

Time frame: From enrollment to the end of treatment at 12 weeks

CSA of m. abductor hallucis with ultrasound (cm²)

  2. Shear Wave Elastography

Time frame: From enrollment to the end of treatment at 12 weeks

Measurement SWE with ultrasound (m. abductor hallucis) (cm)

  3. Multidimensional Nil Hallux Valgus Scale

Time frame: From enrollment to the end of treatment at 12 weeks

The scale has a score range of 0-60, with higher score indicating increased HV symptoms, complaints, and functional disorder.

  4. Hallux Valgus Angle (x-ray)

Time frame: From enrollment to the end of treatment at 12 weeks
