Young Girls' Experiences of Exposure to Pornography: A Qualitative Study

• This study will use a qualitative design informed by Grounded Theory methodology.
• Data will be collected through individual semi-structured interviews, lasting approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Interviews will be audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim.
• Data collection and analysis will proceed iteratively. The interview guide may be refined during the study in response to emerging findings. Transcripts will be independently coded by three investigators. Coding discrepancies will be discussed collectively in order to develop a shared coding framework and strengthen the credibility of the analysis.
• Analysis will follow a constant comparative approach, comparing accounts within and across participants in order to identify recurring themes, divergent experiences, and emerging conceptual categories. Particular attention will be paid to participants' own meanings, language, and interpretations of pornography in their personal, relational, and sexual trajectories. The analysis will aim to develop an interpretative account of the different ways pornography may be encountered, used, negotiated, or experienced by female adolescents and young women receiving psychiatric care.

Inclusion criteria

• Girls aged 11 to 25 years who are being treated in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at CHITS or the follow-up clinic
• Patient, or legal guardians if a minor, who does not object to the research;
• Patient who engages in the consumption of pornographic content.

Exclusion criteria

• intellectual deficit
• psychosis
• acute mood episode
• pregnant or breastfeeding
• Patient under judicial protection
