NCT Number: NCT07772739
The increasing emphasis on reablement reflects a shift in the caring culture of long-term care policies and systems. However, inconsistent findings regarding its effectiveness highlight the need to better understand how reablement interventions work across different care settings, including community-based services. With Taiwan integrating reablement into the National 10-Year Long-Term Care Plan 2.0, identifying effective approaches within Taiwan's long-term care context has become increasingly important.
This study aims to examine a collaborative reablement service model. We use the data from a county-level claims dataset in which collaborative reablement services were implemented in adult day care centers. We investigate whether participation in collaborative reablement services is associated with improvements in physical and psychological health.

Reablement was integrated into routine adult day service centers for 3 months. Both groups received usual ADS services and two daily 15-20-minute group-based reablement sessions. The enhanced reablement group additionally received individualized reablement. Physiotherapists or occupational therapists conducted assessments, collaborative goal setting, and tailored activity plans. Care assistants delivered individualized activities for 15-20 minutes daily, with weekly therapist review and adjustment. Staff received standardized training, and intervention delivery was supported by activity logs, Goal Attainment Scaling, supervision, and checklist-based monitoring.
