Treatment and study plan

Primary outcomes

  1. How many countries affiliated with WFSA have some type of simulation training included in the postgraduate curriculum?

    Time frame: 3 months

Number of WFSA-affiliated countries with obligatory training or optional training.

  2. How many countries affiliated with WFSA have obligatory simulation training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care?

    Time frame: 3 months

Prevalence of obligatory simulation training in postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.

Secondary outcomes

  1. What is required of the HCP to be able to provide anaesthesia unsupervised worldwide?

    Time frame: 3 months

Prevalence of answers about what is required of HCPs to provide unsupervised anaesthesia.

The options are predefined; if these do not fit, participants could choose the "other" option and specify it as an open question.

  2. How extensive is the simulation training in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care in countries affiliated with WFSA?

    Time frame: 3 months

The number of days of simulation training is obligatory or advisable during postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. Also, the frequency of subsequent training components.

  3. Specification of simulation training

    Time frame: 3 months

The prevalence of simulation modalities (low-fidelity simulation, high-fidelity simulation, etc.) across WFSA-affiliated countries. The options are predefined, or if these do not fit, participants could choose "other" and specify in an open question.

The prevalence of themes covered by simulation training.

  4. What are the major barriers limiting the wider implementation of simulation-based education in anaesthesia residency training in countries affiliated with WFSA?

    Time frame: 3 months

The prevalence of major barriers. The participants will choose from predefined options; if these do not fit, they can select the "other" option and specify it in an open question.

  5. What role do artificial intelligence and virtual reality play in simulation training?

    Time frame: 3 months

The prevalence of answers given on the theme of AI and VR.
