Comparative Efficacy of Oil Pulling and Chlorhexidine on Plaque Induced Gingivitis

This randomized clinical trial aims to compare the efficacy of chlorhexidine and coconut oil in plaque-induced gingivitis patients. The study seeks to determine whether coconut oil pulling can provide comparable anti-plaque and anti-inflammatory effects to chlorhexidine mouthwash while producing fewer side effects. A total of 80 participants who diagnosed as plaque induced gingivitis will be randomly allocated into two equal groups (coconut and chlorhexidine). Clinical parameters, including Plaque Index and Gingival Index, will be assessed at baseline, day 7, day 14, and day 21 to evaluate changes in plaque and gingival inflammation following the interventions.
