Trends and Short-term Outcomes of Surgically Resected Early-onset Colorectal Cancer in Switzerland Between 2003 and 2022

The incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC; patients younger than 50 years) has increased worldwide over recent decades. This study aimed to provide nationwide evidence on surgically treated EOCRC in Switzerland.

  • All patients with colorectal cancer resection in Switzerland between 2003 and 2022.

Exclusion criteria

  • incomplete case documentation
  • age under 15 years
  • other hospitals than general or surgical hospitals
  • no index operation
