The purpose of the study is to quantify the levels of platelets and inflammatory markers in A-PRF from a standard venous whole blood sample, and to evaluate the effect of A-PRF on postoperative discomfort and complications following surgical removal of M3.
The study will be prospective and include 60 patients referred to Specialtandlægerne Vestergade for surgical removal of one M3. It is expected that the study will contribute with important information on the impact of A-PRF on postoperative sequelae and complications following surgical removal of mandibular third molars.

Three venous whole blood samples will be collected by a dental assistant, which has undergone special training, supervised by a medical doctor affiliated with Specialtandlægerne Vestergade.
Surgical removal of M3 will be performed by one certified maxillofacial surgeon under local anaesthesia using a standard technique.
An incision from the anterior border of the ascending ramus of the mandible to the distal part of the lower first molar will be performed. The muco-periosteal flap will be reflected and the bone around the M3 will be removed with a round burr under constant irrigation with 0.9% saline solution. If necessary, the M3 will be sectioned with a fissure bur before the tooth is elevated out. The extraction socket and surrounding bone will be irrigated with 0.9 % saline solution, and the surgical site will be sutured with vicryl suture.
All patients will receive standard postoperative instructions. Sutures will be removed 7 days postoperatively. All patients will be seen in the clinic before surgery (T0) and one week following surgical removal of M3 .

Evaluate the level of thrombocytes and growth factors in A-PRF and whole blood sample
Time frame: From enrollment to one week following surgery
Quantification of thrombocytes and specific growth factors (FGF, TGH-B1, VEGF, PDGF-B) released from advanced platelet-rich fibrin measured in concentration levels
